Contact Jack

September 10, 2011 - Finally some good luck is back with Jack as he has a great night of racing at Irwindale. Jack qualifies in the 4th position and starts the main event in the second row. It was a three way race with the 03 of Rod Johnson, the 88 of Ryan Partridge and Jack driving his # 9 Ford Fusion. At the half way mark the 3 racers were nose to tail flying through lapped traffic. A lapped car almost took the top three drivers but all escaped the near dissaster. At lap 55, Jack got around Rod Johnson and followed Ryan to the finish line in second place. The car was great thanks to Linny White, Jack's crew Chief. Jeff , Wes, James and Sparky were all keys to enabling Jack to finish his career best at Irwindale.

May 7, 2011- Jack has been running at the front with a few small setbacks but Saturday May 7 was a major hit to his season. Jack started the night great setting fast time until the last qualifier, Rod Johnson eclipsed Jack for the pole. The crew was excited for the rookie who qualified second. The invert unfortunately was 10 which meant Jack and Rod had to start in the 5th row and work their way thru traffic. The plan was working perfectly as Jack was glued to Rod's bumper but on lap 7, while passing cars on the inside down the back stretch, a car hit Jack's right rear quarter panel sending him sliding into turn 3 driver side first. The impact knocked Jack unconscious and the Safety crews had to cut Jack out of the car. He spent the next 18 hours at LAC/USC Trauma center in Downtown LA. His injuries included a severe concussion, bruised lungs, partially collapsed lung and contusions to his elbow and knees. It's a miracle that those were the extent of his injuries. The team is developing a plan to move forward while Jack recovers of the next few weeks. The Doctors are predicting a release to normal activity in 4-5 weeks. Although he is extremely sore and suffering from a constant headache, Jack is anxious to get back into racing at the earliest possible time. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes.

March19, 2011 - Viva Las Vegas, Jack and his team rolled to Las Vegas to race Opening night in the Twin 40's at The Bullring.. Running his first time ever on the Bullring with the Superlate was different but not unfamiliar. Jack ran a great lap time of 14.501 setting a new track record. That record would only last a few minutes as Alex Haase went even quicker at a 14.405 snatching the record from  Jack. Jack started the first main in the number 2 spot on the outside. As the flag dropped, Jack got shuffled back to the 6th position before he could get in line. Getting settled in, Jack got into a rythum and began to pass cars. He worked his way to the second position putting pressure on the leader but ran out of time finishing a great second place. The second race, had Jack starting on the 6th position as the invert was 7. Jack started on the out side and quickly got into line in the third position. He worked the 2nd place car and moved into second at the halfway point setting his sights on the leader. He caught the leader with 12 laps to go and spent the next 6 laps trying to make his pass attempts stick. With 6 laps to go, Jack drove deep into turn 3 in attempt to make the aggressive pass stick. Instead, the leader and Jack made contact with the leaders car and sent the #17 spinning,. Jack was in the lead but NASCAR penalized him for rough driving and sent him to the rear of the field. He worked his way back to 7th at the end but disappointment on letting a win get away was at the top of Jacks mind. He had a great weekend and proved his race at the showdown was no fluke. Jack is ready and his team is ready to post some big wins in 2011.

January 28, 2011 - Jack starts the 2011 race season with a new car, new crew chief, and a new racetrack at NASCAR's Prestigious Toyota Showdown. Jack and his SoCal Industries, Davis Blueprint, King Equipment car started the weekend with some quick practice times giving a hint that he was comfortable in the new car. Practicing on old tires gave him the confidence that once qualifying came, the new rubber should have him in the top 10. Jack drew the 31st qualifying position out of 35 cars. Several of the veteran drivers put some hot qualifying laps down with Rod Johnson setting quick time at 17.73 seconds. Jack went out at on his first lap ran an 18.00 lap placing him 13th in the filed. The top 15 qualifiers would be locked into the field of 25. On his second lap Jack flew the car into one ,slammed the throttle and headed into three going for the bottom of the track. As he came across the finish line on his second qualifying lap, Jack ran an incredible 17.77 second lap time placing him second quick . This would place him on the pole of the twin heat races. The drivers would have to start the main event based upon their finish in the heat races. Jack starting on the pole settled into third in the heat race satisfied to finish there and start in the third row in the main. Unfortunately he made contact with another driver and cut his right front tire causing him to finish last in the main event.
Jack was disappointed but he knew he had a very fast race car and could work his way from last place to near the front. The race started and Jack began carving his way through the field. Ultimately, after 75 laps Jack drove an incredible race and finished 7th and gained the respect he was hoping for and the experience he needs for the upcoming 2011 campaign. Jack could not have had a great race without a ton of help from Linny White, Wes, Jeff, James, Jerry, Uncle Chris and the sponsors of SoCal Johnny and Rudy, Davis Blue Print Roman, King Equipment Ernie and of course Mom and Dad. A great start to a great looking 2011!

August 28 - Jack has a great night finishing in the Top 5 in a full field of Superset at Orange Show speedway. The car was way too tight at the finish of the race but Jack did a great job making the car work the last 10 laps of the race.

July 31, 2010 - Jack has some ups and downs early in the season at Orange Show but it finally clicks for him with some coaching from Chris. With a solid qualifying effort, Jack starts on the pole with the inveret and does a great job for the first 11 laps leading the race battling with the 51 car. Eventually, they tangle and both hgo to the back on the restart. Jack battles his way back to 8th keeping the car together with no damage!! Next up is race #9 on August 14 at Orange Show.

March 20, 2010 - After four months of an off season where Jack played Football and Lacrosse, he was ready to get back into the n Superlate. Opening night at Orangeshow was challenging as Jack struggled with the tricky 1/4 mile race track. After a mishap at the start which resulted in Jack's hood being smashed up into his line of site, repairs were needed and Jack went two laps down at lap 10 of the 100 lap race. At the end of the evening Jack was one of the fastest cars and worked his way back to a 7th place finish. Thanks to all the crew of Chris, Jeff, John, Brad and Ron. Next week Jack races his ASA Truck at Orangeshow to help get him some more seat time for 2010.

Nov 28, 2009 - Jack , in just his 4th race, sets fast time at Havasu Speedway! Jack had a great weekend racing for the first time at Havasu Speedway. He had great support  from Chris,Ron and Ryan setting up the car. Chris predicted Jack would put it on the pole as he crossed the scales for qualifying. Jack just smiled but listened to everything Chris had to say and did a great job just beating Ron Daniels by a tenth of a second. After the final car qualified, and it was set that Jack set fast time, Ryan quickly grabbed Jack and put him in the trash can in celebration. The race was tough with the invert but Jack did a great finishing 4th battling the last half of the race with Austin Murphy.
Jack and his team are preparing his car for the opening of the 2010 Orange Show Speedway Super late season.

September 2009 - Jack runs his ASA Speedtruck at Irwindale speedway with a great battle with some of the series great racers. Jack battled door to door with Lee Hatch for the last 10 laps racing clean and hard. A little action in the pits afterward settled into handshakes and congratulations from all sides.

June 2009 - Jack had a great weekend at the Pro Invitational at Sonoma during NASCAR weekend. The Legends and T Rods raced on Saturday riaght after the West race in front of 20,000 fans. Friday had been a great up and down day. Jack set fast time in lap 2 only to break a timing chain in lap 3. Luckily his time held up which was very impressive considering he had never been to the famed racetrack. Frank and Frankie Marks offered up their spare motor to Jack so he could race on Saturday. Frankie and Jack drove to Sacramento to get the motor while the crew readied the car for the replacement engine. After several hours , the car was ready to race on Saturday. With a little help , Jack won the Pro race and finished off a great weekend on Sunday watching the NASCAR guys wrestle their big cars around that great track.
